This ensemble was worn by Sally Yerina while a student at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Sally was born October 11, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio to Mary and Sterling Scott. This ensemble was Sally's favorite outfit to wear when traveling from Oxford to Columbus. Sally later transferred to Ohio State university where she majored in Health Administration. Sally met her husband, Joseph Yerina, at OSU, and the two would wed in 1955.
This ensemble was manufactured by R&K Originals. R&K Originals was established in 1932 by Henry Kalman and David Rosenthal as the Rosenthal & Kalman Dress Corp, changing the name to R & K Originals in 1946. The principal designer at R&K Originals was Pauline Fracchia, who remained with the company until at least 1960.

Brown tweed jacket and dress
a. Jacket
Jacket has lapel collar and elbow length dolman sleeves. There are front and back princess seams going into underarm seam of sleeve. Two button center front opening; bound buttonholes; 1.25" brown buttons. 2" wide belt from side seam to side front; tacked in place, no button/buttonhole. Body lined with taffeta; no sleeve lining.
b. Dress
Dress has dark brown knit bodice with round neckline and cut on cap sleeves. Dress has a side seam and waistline bust darts. The waistline seam has stay tape on inside. 8 stitched down (5") box pleats. Center back zipper; hook and eye at neckline. Belt thread loops at side seams and center front waistline (belt missing). Garment not lined.

Anne Foltz (née Clark) graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics in 1955. Anne was born in Rio Grande, Ohio on March 11, 1933 to James and Beatrice Clark. As a high school student, Anne’s 4-H record led to a scholarship to attend Ohio State University. Anne was then selected for the International 4-H Youth Exchange as a delegate to Ireland. While a student at OSU, Anne was President of Delta Zeta, Vice-President of Phi Upsilon Omicron, a member of 4-H club, the Mirrors and Mortar Board. After graduation, Anne served as an Extension Agent in Home Economics and a 4-H agent in Delaware County. Anne is also a Charter Member of the Mortar Board Alumni Association. Anne and her husband, John Foltz, also established the Foltz Family Fund to support an undergraduate member of the Alpha Tau Zeta FarmHouse Fraternity, to support Cooke Castle in Lake Erie or a freshman with intention to study agriculture. Outfit was hand knit by Anne Foltz’s aunt, Virginia Woolpert. It was worn by Anne Clark as an exchange student in Ireland.

The primary purpose of tracing the provenance of an object or entity is normally to provide contextual and circumstantial evidence for its original production or discovery, by establishing, as far as practicable, its later history, especially the sequences of its formal ownership, custody, and places of storage.
This dress belonged to Mrs. Harvey S. Firestone Jr. Born Elizabeth Parke in Decatur, Illinois in 1897 she was the daughter of Guy James Parke and Gertrude Chambers Parke. As a girl she attended Leed's School in England and Rosemary Hall in Greenwich, Connecticut, and graduated from Miss Wheeler's School in Providence, Rhode Island. In 1921, Elizabeth married Harvey S. Firestone Jr., the heir to the The Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. They lived in Akron, Ohio and Newport, Rhode Island. Each year Mrs. Firestone traveled to Paris to purchase her clothes directly from designers and during the 1950s she was nominated for The Couture Group of the New York Dress Institute Inc.'s Best Dressed Women's list several times. Mrs. Firestone passed away in October, 1990 at the age of 93.

This dress belonged to Sarah Hislop Pace. She was born 10/30/1928 to Catherine Gertrude Crawford and John Hughes Hislop. Her father, John, was a real estate broker in Columbus, Ohio. She had two brothers and one sister. Her brother, John Jr. died in 1925 at the age of three. Her sister, Jeanne was born in 1918 and her brother, Thomas, was born in 1926. Sarah married Dr. William Greenville Pace III (3/22/1927-6/6/1996) who was a doctor at Ohio State University Hospital. She would have been 22-25 years old when this dress was worn.

1950s Brown Dior Suit
Description
An account of the resource
Brown wool Christian Dior skirt suit with black velvet neckline inset.
a. Jacket: High hip length jacket with lapel collar and very large curved lapels going into left side assymetrical closing. Very wide lapel stitched or tacked to collar to hold in position. Front and back princess seams (into shoulder at front and armscye at back). Front angled assymetrical closure with six buttons and bound buttonholes. Slanted 1.5" wide welt pockets below waist on left and right front which curve around to side back of jacket. Curved lower front edge.
Vent at center back. Garment shaped at waist giving lower section almost a peplum look.
Long set- in two-piece sleeves with two button/bound buttonhole vents at sleeve edge. Jacket lined with medium brown silk crepe.
b. Skirt: Straight skirt with center front and center back one-inch wide stitched down tuck. Tuck stitched to below thigh at front releasing to free vent below. Front tuck undersection extends to side seam right side seam but not included in side seam. Back tuck stitched to below thigh and released to walking vent. Undersection of back vent extends to left side seam but not included in side seam. Front vent extension stitched into waistline seam. Back vent extension is loose and secured at left waistband with hook and eye.
Set on waistband. Center back closure of four snaps, instead of a zipper, and four hooks and eyes to secure waistband. Unlined and no pockets.

Description

Pink cashmere pullover sweater.
3/4 length sleeves, rib knit roll collar extending to short ties in front held in place with a 1" shanked shell button, 4 small dyed pink 2-hole mother-of-pearl buttons with thread chain button loops at back neck, ribbed hem and cuffs.
Grey wool pleated skirt
Plain weave wool pleated skirt; somewhat rough hand. 1.5" wide set on waistband. Left side zipper opening; two button/buttonhole closure on waistband. Small triple inverted pleats between 2" wide box pleats around entire skirt at waistband.

This ensemble belonged to Harold G. Kayne. Harold was born in Columbus, Ohio on June 25, 1917. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1941 with a BS in Business Administration. After serving in the Army in World War II, Harold married Miriam Greenberg. They had three children together. Harold worked as a Secretary-Treasurer for Twentieth Century Builders. Harold and Miriam remained in Columbus, Ohio for their entire lives.
