This dress was worn by Catherine Gertrude Crawford for her wedding to John Hughes Hislop on June 17, 1916. Catherine lived from 4/30/1895-8/11/1976. John lived from 10/10/1883-9/18/1948. John owned a real estate business. Catherine's parents were Frederick Wilson Crawford and Elizabeth Dreibelbis. Frederick was the fifth of six children and was the Vice-President of the Ohio Fuel Gas Company. Frederick's father, Ebeneezer Crawford, had been an oil producer as well.

An account of the resource
Lucile Ivory satin wedding gown. Silk tulle sleeves and over the shoulders, lace under bodice with ivory ribbon bow. Ivory ribbon with bow at wrist covering a snap closure. Satin ruched bodice that crosses across the front. Complex closures of hooks and eyes and snaps in the back, layers overlap to close. Double layer of silk tulle ruffles at waist that are edged in pearls. Panniers maintain the skirt's wide style. Ruffle of silk tulle with metallic edging and pearls go around the skirt and get caught up in the gathers at the panniers. Lace and tulle inset at center front of skirt. Underskirt has lace and chiffon at the bottom with applied ribbon bows and flower clusters. Long ivory satin asymmetrical turn over train. Top side of the train is edged with silk tulle edged with metallic stitching and pearls. Underside at the end point there is an applied floral love knot.
