1950s White Nylon Formal Dress

Description

White strapless prom dress with rows of white machine-made lace, fitted waist with a pale blue cummerbund of pleated blue nylon; extending into full skirt with alternating groups of rows of white lace and sheer white nylon pleats.

Provenance

This dress was worn by Jane Lynne Jessup for her first formal at Grandview High School. Jane was born on December 24, 1942. Her parents were Orus and Dorothy Jessup. Orus was in the Navy and Dorothy was a cashier at a department store. Orus was originally from Indiana and grew up on a farm that his father owned.
