1930's Blue Wool Suit
Description
Deep sapphire blue wool gabardine skirt suit with rhinestone button trim.
Jacket: Hip length, fitted with double pointed darts, front and back, for shaping. Shawl collar with points at front, giving a lapel appearance. Princess seam, front and back, going into shoulder seam. Right front princess seam extends into slanted 1.5" wide and 2" - 4" long tab pointing toward hem and side seam at right hip. 3/4" diameter rhinestone button/buttonhole adorns tab. Second slanted seam below tab forms shallow non-functioning pocket on right front jacket. Left front jacket princess seam forms a tab above left bust, matching that at right hip, but shorter in length (~ 1.5" to 3") and points toward left front armhole seam. At place where tab forms, princess seam angles over to left armhole seam. Rhinestone button with bound buttonhole, matching that on right tab, adorns left shoulder area tab. Five center front button/bound buttonhole closure; two-piece buttons of self fabric formed by folding fabric with knotted appearance. Long two-piece set in sleeves; two inch vent at wrist and one button at each vent which matches center front buttons. Shoulder pads. Jacket fully lined.
Skirt: Straight skirt in matching fabric, below knee length. One piece front, two darts; back with center back and side back seams. Set-on waistband; left side zipper; one button fastener on waistband. Back kick pleat; not lining to skirt.
