1970's Purple Sari from Pakistan

Purple sari with woven crepe back satin purple choli and woven purple petticoat. Sari has purple yellow and red dye motif with gold thread couched on.

This sari was a gift from Dinoo Dastur to the Ohio State University upon her graduation from graduate school with a PhD in Home Economics in 1971. Dinoo was born in Pakistan and continued to live and work in the U.S. following graduation.
