Embroidered huipil (blouse), multi-colored bird and floral design. Hand woven fabric and hand embroidered. Black and white plaid woven skirt with woven purple stripe. Guatemalan belt red woven with blue, green, white, yellow, and purple embroidery.

Provenance
Blouse (huipil) from the highland region of Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, Central America. Embroidered by a Mayan Indian woman (nanny) in 1910. The main bird in the middle of the blouse is a Quetzal, The national bird of Guatemala. The other animals and flowers are symbolic and traditional of the country.
