Rights and Permission
The Ohio Sate Historic Costume & Textiles Collection's Fashion2Fiber website provides online access to a wide variety of digital materials in support of research and anytime, anywhere learning for The Ohio State University, for the state of Ohio, and for an ever-expanding community of world scholars.
Creative Commons License
Most works appearing on the Fashion2Fiber website that were created by the Ohio State Historic Costume & Textiles Collection staff are licensed under a Creative Commons Zero (CCO) license.
Images of works in the Ohio State Historic Costume & Textiles Collection fall into two categories:
- images of works that the Ohio State Historic Costume & Textiles Collection believes to be in the public domain
- images of works for which copyright information is undetermined.
Images and data for which the Ohio State Historic Costume & Textiles Collection has been unable to make a conclusive determination regarding the copyright status, or other restrictions, are available for limited noncommercial, educational, and personal use only, or for fair use as defined in the United States copyright laws. . Users may download these files for their own use, subject to any additional terms or restrictions which may be applicable to the individual file or program. By downloading, printing, or otherwise using images or data, whether accessed directly from fashion2fiber.osu.edu or via other sites or mechanisms, users agree that they will limit their use of such files to non-commercial, educational, personal or for fair use, and will not violate The Ohio State Historic Costume & Textiles Collection or any other party's proprietary rights. Downloading, printing, copying, distributing or otherwise using images and data, whose copyright status is undetermined, for commercial purposes, including commercial publication or personal gain, is expressly prohibited.
