Black & Gold Shirtwaist and Black Net Skirt
Description
Mono-bosom style bodice of black silk covered in net fitted with gold and pearl beading. Center front and center back panels covered in 1/4" velvet ribbon in 1/2" lattice pattern and clear gold bead clusters. Remainder of front and back bodice covered with gold and pink clear beads and long pearl beads surrounded by gold chain stitch in floral pattern. 5 1/8" wide velvet ribbon spaced 1 1/4" apart form diagonal stripes on bodice sides. 3/8" wide bead clusters are spaced 1" apart and form rows between the velvet ribbon. 2 1/2" wide boned waistband forms "V" in front; trimmed with 3 rows of 3/8" wide black velvet ribbon. Waistband fastens in back with 3 hooks and eyes; embellished with a 3 1/2" wide puff medallion of velvet ribbon and silk netting. 2 1/2' wide boned band collar encrusted with small gold and silver beads and round mauve colored beads. Fastens in back with 9 hooks and eyes. Leg-o-mutton sleeves, puff at shoulder followed by 4 layers of net ruffles with velvet trim. From elbow, fitted with horizontal pleats. Skirt is gored black net with vertical stripes of black velvet trim. Two gathered ruffles of net around hem edged with black velvet. Row of appliqued cording around the base of the skirt above the ruffles.
