Green and white striped ostrich feather cloak and evening dress. a) Long rich green heavy silk crepe sleeveless dress with boat neckline dipping low in the back. Hooks and eyes on the left shoulder and zipper on the left hand side. Long straight silhouette lined in the matching green silk. b) Matching long green with white tips ostrich feather sleeveless coat. One snap at the top. Twelve tiers of feathers on green net.

Provenance

This ensemble was worn by Mrs. Frank (Isabel) Eberstadt. Isabel was the daughter of poet Ogden Nash. Born in 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland, she later married Frederick Eberstadt. Frederick was a well-known photographer and style-setter in New York City. They were key figures in the New York social scene in the 1960s and 70s. Isabel was a graduate of Bryn Mawr and a published writer
