1920's Child's Bathing Suit

Description

Blue wool sleeveless swimsuit. Low scoop neck in front and back. Two 1" black stripes across upper chest in front and back and around both legs. Black shank button and button hole on left shoulder strap button gusset at crotch sewn into body of garment.

Provenance

This swimsuit was likely worn by Thomas C. Heisey Jr. (known as T.C.) who was born in 1918. T.C. was the son of Thomas Heisey and Anne Davis. Thomas worked at the A.H. Heisey Glass Company based in Newark, Ohio. The company was founded by his father, Augustus H. Heisey.
