1990's Ensemble from Malaysia
Description
Rayon printed tunic and skirt (Baju Kurung) in orange, maroon, green, yellow, black.
A. Tunic
Long-sleeve knee-length tunic has center-front neckline opening. There is no collar, and the opening closes with a pin.
B. Ankle length skirt has a stitched inverted pleat that releases left of center front at the knee.
Tudung (headscarf) is made of off-white rayon, folded into triangle, edged with gold and blue glass beads and pearls.

This ensemble was a gift to The Ohio State University from Awiah Maarip. Awiah graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Textiles & Clothing in 1997. Awiah was born in Malaysia and returned home after graduation.
