Ungaro, Emanuel Black Floral Silk Dress
Description
Dress: silk crepe with two prints. Upper bodice, sleeves and skirt ruffle are in black with dots, pink and red tulips. Lower bodice and upper bodice panel are gathered at center front to form 'V' neckline and opening above chest front. Self rosette at center. Lower bodice has curve over each breast, coming to center 'V'. Bodice is shirred, has five small raised pink silk flowers. Back bodice also has two parts. Upper back bodice has 'V' neck with one hook/eye opening and self bow. Bow fastens on left with snaps. Lower back bodice shirred at center, zipped opening. Sleeves are set-in with a pleated puff at cap, horizontal seam at elbow, forming upper and lower sleeves. Uppersleeves has two pleats at elbow. Lower sleeve has zipper opening. Front skirt is a two-gore, circular style, very flared with ruffle sewn all around skirt with a seam that form arches. Stitching line accented with black soutache. Back skirt has four gores, very flared. Bodice is lined with black China silk.

Provenance
This ensemble belonged to Terre Blair Hamlisch. Terre was raised in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. Terre was a weatherperson for a local t.v. station. Terre married married Marvin Hamlisch in 1989. Marvin was an Academy Award winning composer.
