Description
Lady's white cotton nightgown trimmed with eyelet work ruffles and pin tucks; upper chest and shoulders yoke; jewel neckline; center front 5 button/buttonhole closure; long sleeves, band cuffs; neckline and cuffs trimmed with eyelet work; vertical pin tucks at front yoke, horizontal pin tucks at cuffs.

Provenance
This nightgown was more than likely a part of the trousseau for Lelia Maria Woodcock upon her marriage to Charles Dana Monroe on April 28, 1879. Lelia was born in Leicester, Massachusetts on July 4, 1853 to Mary Marsh and Josephus Woodcock.
