1950s White Pique Dress
Description
White heavy cotton pique princess line dress with short cap sleeves. Round neck with cut-on short cap sleeves. Fit and flare style with no waistline seam. Princess seams front and back from shoulder seams to hem. One box pleat in each princess seam, front and back, from 3" below waistline to hem. Very full skirt. Center front opening, neckline to hem, with 13 rhinestone buttons and machine made keyhole buttonholes Edge of neckline, center front opening and sleeves finished with white cable cord-like crocheted trim. Garment is unlined.

This dress belonged to Anne Foltz. Anne Foltz (née Clark) graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics in 1955. Anne was born in Rio Grande, Ohio on March 11, 1933 to James and Beatrice Clark. As a high school student, Anne’s 4-H record led to a scholarship to attend Ohio State University. Anne was then selected for the International 4-H Youth Exchange as a delegate to Ireland. While a student at OSU, Anne was President of Delta Zeta, Vice-President of Phi Upsilon Omicron, a member of 4-H club, the Mirrors and Mortar Board. After graduation, Anne served as an Extension Agent in Home Economics and a 4-H agent in Delaware County. Anne is also a Charter Member of the Mortar Board Alumni Association. Anne and her husband, John Foltz, also established the Foltz Family Fund to support an undergraduate member of the Alpha Tau Zeta FarmHouse Fraternity, to support Cooke Castle in Lake Erie or a freshman with intention to study agriculture.
