Brown tweed jacket and dress
a. Jacket
Jacket has lapel collar and elbow length dolman sleeves. There are front and back princess seams going into underarm seam of sleeve. Two button center front opening; bound buttonholes; 1.25" brown buttons. 2" wide belt from side seam to side front; tacked in place, no button/buttonhole. Body lined with taffeta; no sleeve lining.
b. Dress
Dress has dark brown knit bodice with round neckline and cut on cap sleeves. Dress has a side seam and waistline bust darts. The waistline seam has stay tape on inside. 8 stitched down (5") box pleats. Center back zipper; hook and eye at neckline. Belt thread loops at side seams and center front waistline (belt missing). Garment not lined.

Provenance
This ensemble was worn by Sally Yerina while a student at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Sally was born October 11, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio to Mary and Sterling Scott. This ensemble was Sally's favorite outfit to wear when traveling from Oxford to Columbus. Sally later transferred to Ohio State university where she majored in Health Administration. Sally met her husband, Joseph Yerina, at OSU, and the two would wed in 1955.
This ensemble was manufactured by R&K Originals. R&K Originals was established in 1932 by Henry Kalman and David Rosenthal as the Rosenthal & Kalman Dress Corp, changing the name to R & K Originals in 1946. The principal designer at R&K Originals was Pauline Fracchia, who remained with the company until at least 1960.
This ensemble was manufactured by R&K Originals. R&K Originals was established in 1932 by Henry Kalman and David Rosenthal as the Rosenthal & Kalman Dress Corp, changing the name to R & K Originals in 1946. The principal designer at R&K Originals was Pauline Fracchia, who remained with the company until at least 1960.
